Focus on Francis of Delirium, laureate of the Global Project Grant 2022 (Pop/Rock)

2022 laureates of the Global Project Grant (Pop/Rock division), Francis of Delirium, have already had a pretty impressive year so far. Following their nomination, interview, and performance at this year’s Music Moves Europe Awards (presented by ESNS), the band embarked on their first ever North American tour in support of The Districts, hitting roughly thirty dates across the USA and Canada including a debut headlining NYC show at Baby’s All Right.

In the midst of their tour, Francis of Delirium finished off an EP trilogy with The Funhouse, released on April 27th via Dalliance Recordings (Gia Margaret, HighSchool), receiving praise from the likes of Stereogum (“a sharp, purposeful piece of alternative rock…”), Paste, KEXP, Jack Saunders BBC Radio 1 (“This is one of my favourite tracks we’re playing tonight…absolute goosebumps”), and The Fader’s 20 Best Rock Songs Right Now.

Now with the summer underway, the band continues on the road, soon opening for Briston Maroney across Europe. The Fall will bring the band another headlining UK tour with confirmed slots already at the annual Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavík, and Les femmes s’en mêlent festival in Paris, among others.

Lead-singer and guitarist, Jana Bahrich, shared her excitement of being on the road, the band’s plans to come, and advice for those artists who are looking to apply to Kultur lx’s annual Global Project Grant.

“Getting the Global Project grant has opened up a lot of doors that we wouldn’t have been able to access without that financial, artistic and creative freedom to get us out and playing shows. Having this support lets us play and tour with the people we want to tour with.”
