Rigatoni. The tube-shaped noodles, bigger than Penne, sometimes slightly curved are the favorite type of pasta from musician and activist C’est Karma. Understandably so, since grated cheese and sauces stick so much better to the eponymous grooves than to flat pasta. Thus leading to a more intense taste experience.

Intense is probably the most fitting description for the new single Spaghetti On Repeat out now on all DSPs. The young high school graduate from Luxembourg explains: “Spaghetti On Repeat is a song about pasta. Behind the simple but delicious dish I tried to hide the story of a single mom, cooking pasta on repeat to feed her children. With this song I want to talk about the illusion of upward social mobility and the burden of our capitalist society on the most vulnerable.”

Whenever possible the 19 year-old address social and political issues in her skillfully crafted songs – sometimes very visible whereas occasionally you do need a second glance. A unique talent that earned C’est Karma praise from the likes of Wonderland, The Line Of Best Fit, Elle and Rolling Stone for her sophomore 2020 EP Farbfilm.

In addition to the lyrics and content you do also feel Karmas musical evolution on “Spaghetti On Repeat“. Influenced by artists such as SOPHIE and A.G. Cook, Karmas evolution towards ambitious electronic pop music started with her song Girls supporting International Women’s Day in 2020 and took only a deeper dive with the release of Farbfilm last November.

After fully focusing on her final school exams in the first half of this year and spending her summer vacation on a pasta spree in Tuscany, Italy, C’est Karma will be performing her new single at selected festivals this autumn :
