2021 Global Project Grant laureates in the jazz section, Michel Meis 4TET will continue to promote their album Kaboom, released on 28 May 2021 on Double Moon/Challenge Records, this autumn.

A veritable sonic explosion, offering music that is at once complex, playful, danceable and melancholic, and fully embracing a hybrid identity between the edginess of its rock-hardcore heritage and the complex, hushed rhythm of jazz, Kaboom, on which Michel Meis called on the services of the well-known violinist Theo Ceccaldi, has received a very favourable response in the international press.

Michel Meis gives a fresh touch by modernizing it with electro beats, navigating between compositions, improvisation and experimentation. JAZZ NEWS (FR)

Kaboom is an album of contemplation, improvisation and large spaces. Musicality, a unique approach to music, sensibility of the soloists are the great assets of this album. Highly recommended.Jazz-Fun.de (DE)
