As the guest of honour at the 39th Marché de la Poésie, Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg honoured the diversity of Luxembourg’s poetry on a national stand with the complicity and support of the Luxembourg Embassy in Paris.

As a peripheral event to the Market, Kultur | lx dedicated a special evening to Anise Koltz, one of the main voices of French literature, on May 23 at the Maison de la Poésie/scène littéraire, Paris. Fábio Godinho made the force of Anise Koltz’s writing resound, mixing readings, archives and musical creation.

From June 8 to 12, Place Saint Sulpice in Paris was the venue for the largest gathering of authors and publishers of poetry in France. The dense program of readings and meetings were allowed to discover the diversity of the poetic voices of Luxembourg among which Ulrike Bail, Serge Basso, Nico Helminger, Pierre Joris (absent but whose poems were read on the stage by Florent Toniello), Carla Lucarelli, Tom Nisse, Jean Portante, Nathalie Ronvaux, Lambert Schlechter, Florent Toniello, Hélène Tyrtoff and the new voices: Mario Velazquez, Tom Weber and Alexandra Shahrezaie.

The official opening, in the presence of the minister of Culture, Mrs. Sam Tanson, was followed by an opening concert of the duo Sascha Ley and Laurent Payfert. The second night of the market was animated by the Geisskan Kollektiv with a literary guessing game “Dead or Alive”.

The Poetry Market allowed for fruitful exchanges between authors, publishers and the public, as well as bringing the Luxembourgish scene closer to the international scene and giving visibility to Luxembourgish literature.

We invite you to continue the discovery of this scene thanks to the gallery of audio-visual portraits of Luxembourgish poets realised by Kultur | lx in collaboration with KUK – KulturKanal and the radio 100,7.
