Back to a successful first Focus Danse event in Luxembourg
For its first Focus dance in Luxembourg, Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg collaborated with the Trois C-L Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois and the Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg. Over two days, eight foreign programmers were invited to discover a few new creations on the Luxembourg choreographic scene: Starving Dingoes by Léa Tirabasso, Rouge est une couleur froide by Sarah Baltzinger and the Dreamer project by Anne-Mareike Hess, which the premiere was held on 17 December in neimënster. It was also an opportunity to meet Luxembourg professionals and to visit the country’s dance venues.
Thanks to their close coordination, the Luxembourg key players were able to contact the best programmers. For some of them, it was their first encounter and visit to Luxembourg. These meetings set the foundations for building relationships that will definitely grow and get stronger following the artistic quality demonstrated and the warm welcome in Luxembourg.
These highlight events specifically designed for selected professionals are part of the range of tools that Kultur | lx wishes to use in order to encourage collaboration and artistic mobility as well as to integrate Luxembourg in the European contemporary dance scene.
By revealing the whole choreographic creation process, including Luxembourg artists, producers and venues, Kultur | lx has proven that Luxembourg has the ability to rise on the European scene, supported by a national ecosystem and a great aesthetic quality.
This highlight is the first in a series that also intends to focus on theatre and young audience performances which will prove the efforts of Luxembourg’s professionals to develop a unique and strong performing arts industry, both inside and outside the borders.
