Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg, continuing the commitment of the Fonds culturel national to its partners, has taken over the Cité internationale des arts residency in Paris and offers to an artist a three-month research and creation residency, based on a call for applications open in December 2021.

The jury, composed of Vincent Gonzalvez (Cité internationale des arts), assisted by Souraya Kessaria (Cité internationale des arts), Michal Grabowski (Ambassade du Luxembourg in France), Marlène Kreins (Centre d’Art Nei Liicht – Dudelange), Andrea Mancini (residency laureate 2021) and Joel Valabrega (MUDAM – Luxembourg), examined the 8 applications received and decided to award Letizia Romanini for her project Brin par brin.

Statement of the jury
“The multidisciplinary practice and the generous personality Letizia Romanini of could be interesting for the Cité des Arts. Her latest works and research link movement, representation and documentation. She has worked mainly in France and Luxembourg. France is a scene she already knows but she wants to experiment a completely new practice: the straw marquetery. A residency of this type will certainly be useful in exploring a new technique. She
has a practice of residencies which will allow her to take full advantage of her short stay. The relationship between her practice and craft is very relevant to the French scene at this time. In terms of networking, her multidisciplinary practice can easily be accompanied by the Cité des arts, which will be able to make the link with curators who work at the crossroads of arts and crafts.”

About Letizia Romanini
