On May 31 and June 1, Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg, together with 1535° Creative Hub, CCRD opderschmelz and USINA Festival, welcomed twenty-seven international professionals from Germany, Norway, Hungary, Spain, the Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands, Bulgaria and the UK to the first edition of the Focus Amplified Music. Their activities ranged from booking agencies, festivals, venues, artist management, labels, media and music publishing.

The delegates first explored the creative force of the 1535° Creative Hub in Differdange before networking with Luxembourg professionals at a welcome reception. Afterwards, they enjoyed live performances by Them Lights, Pleasing and MAZ Univerze at the Unison Studios.

The official part of the second day started with a pitching session at opderschmelz, where Luxembourg professionals could present themselves and their activities to the delegates. Artists and their managers then had the opportunity to connect with the delegates in a speed meeting session. Twenty-eight participants took the opportunity to present themselves, their artists, and their music.

The following Usina Festival at Neischmelz featured performances by CHAiLD, C’est Karma, Bartleby Delicate, Culture the Kid and Ryvage, with MAZ Univerze stepping in as a last-minute replacement for a cancelled international act. Some delegates stayed even longer to also take a glimpse of Sunday’s line-up with Nikki Ninja, Tali, Say Yes Dog and Mambo Schinki.

During the Focus days, the first requests for collaboration with Luxembourg artists were already initiated. The next few weeks will reveal how these will materialize.

The Focus events, organised by all of Kultur | lx’s departments, facilitate contacts between local and international professionals. They are essential for promoting the scene and acting as catalysts for the touring of artists outside of Luxembourg. Kultur | lx would like to thank its partners 1535° Creative Hub, CCRD opderschmelz and USINA Festival for the success of this programme, as well as the artists and professionals who took part in it.
